Slammed Door Number 112

Hola (:
Great and hard week this week! I have never had so many doors slammed in my face my whole mission, but we did see a lot of miracles. We have been trying to help a less active family come back and they are finally attending church every week and this last week we invited their two kids, Joana and Joel, to be baptized on the 21st! (: They all want to get to the temple to be sealed for time and all eternity so that is our goal too, to help them get there! We had a family night with them, and then they invited us over for lunch on Friday and we had another asado (BBQ). I ate an empanada with cow stomach and it was sooo good! (: They invited us to eat with them every Friday now!!
We visited an old man named Inocencio with Hnos Hohermuth and he does n0t believe in God, but has been reading the Book of Mormon and is half way done. The only problem is, is that he isn't reading it with an open mind so he isn't learning anything from it. It really made me understand the importance of doing things and even praying with real intent- that when we study it out and ask, we are going to be willing to follow through and change. He really needs the gospel though, so we are going to try again and help him see, but if it isn’t his time, then maybe another.
This week we took the directory and tried to visit all the inactives. We found one, Jose Robledo, and it was a miracle! He actually told us we could come back and share a message with his family. So we went by Friday night, he isn't married and his girlfriend isn't a member, and they have a 4 yr old daughter. They are the cutest and told us we could keep stopping by. We are just going to form a friendship first and then we have a lot of hope for this family! (:
We also visited Eliana this week and taught her the Plan of Salvation. She has a baptismal date for the 5th of July too! (: She said she would be baptized if she knows it's true, so we are really praying for her.
No one came to church yesterday, we only had 9 people there, but that's okay! Next week they'll come! We are going to be getting an actually house to hold church in instead of the grandparents club where we are meeting in right now haha.
CONGRATS to Chase on his mission call!!!! I'm so happy and excited for you! Can't wait to hear all about it! HAPPY Birthday to Ali (: and HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!! <3 Hope you all have a really great week!!
''And now, my beloved brethren, notwithstanding their hardness, let us labor diligently; for if we should cease to labor, we should be brought under condemnation; for we have a labor to perform whilst in this tabernacle of clay, that we may conquer the enemy of all unrighteousness, and rest our souls in the kingdom of God.'' Moroni 9:6. This scripture really helped us get through the week. It was hard, but we know we were called to serve here at this time and in this city. But I think it goes for all of the callings we hold-in the church or our family responsibilities- because Heavenly Father lets us serve His children, and we should serve Him diligently and know that He will always reward us for our efforts and sacrifices. It's really hard, but I wouldn't rather be anywhere else! Trials make us stronger (: Love you all so much!!
